I grew up learning as many instruments as possible. I started on the piano, moved on to the drums, and at 14, I was writing rock songs on my dad’s Strat. At 16, I wrote and produced my first rock record.

In 2006, I was accepted into a competitive Music Industry Studies program in the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. I was hired as a concert-recording engineer recording concerts ranging from major ensembles including symphonic bands and wind ensembles to chamber orchestras and choirs, also faculty recitals. That led to Manager of Concert Recording, and then another promotion to Student Recording Studio Manager. There, I got to work one-on-one for/with my mentor and professor Scott Wynne.

As Studio Manager, I was privileged to record jazz legends Bernard Purdie and Cyrus Chestnut, John Brown (Duke University), Vince Lewis (Liberty University), Todd Wright, Bafoodus, Andy Page and Zack Page, along with many talented students and Hayes School of Music faculty members. I graduated Spring 2010 and moved to New York City to pursue a career as a mastering engineer….
